Meet Elliot

GRC Technology | Platform EnablementSQUAD #10

Elliot is a risk practitioner and founder of Initia Risk. Before building the platform, he worked in second-line risk management, operating enterprise risk frameworks in regulated financial services and dealing first-hand with RCSAs, control testing and board reporting. That experience shaped a simple view: technology should make risk and control management easier to operate, not create another layer of administration.

Within COPA, Elliot brings that practitioner and technology perspective together. He helps make sure the digital platform supports the club's GRC operating model rather than becoming the proposition itself. His focus is on connecting ownership, workflows, evidence, actions and reporting so clubs can see what is happening, what needs attention and what leadership needs to know.

What Elliot brings to COPA

Risk practitioner experience

First-hand experience operating ERM frameworks, RCSAs, control testing and board reporting in regulated financial services.

Making technology usable

Turning risk and control routines into workflows people can actually use, with clear ownership, evidence and actions.

Keeping the platform in the right place

Making sure technology supports the operating model and helps create one connected Club GRC view, without pretending software is the answer on its own.

Away from COPA

Away from work, Elliot likes to keep active, the odd running race and regular trips to the gym. Though admittedly a little less of both lately, with COPA and Initia keeping him busy.
